KATHMANDU: Ministry of Youth and Sports on Monday felicitated two youth weightlifters with Rs 25,000 each for setting new national records during the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship held in Japan last month.
Prakash KC lifted 100kg in snatch and 124kg weight in clean and jerk in the men’s 62kg category to better his own personal record.
Earlier, KC had lifted 93kg in snatch and 124 in clean and jerk during the Grand Prix Weightlifting Championship held in Kathmandu to set a national record.
Similarly, Kamala Shrestha had set a new record with a lift of 61kg in snatch and 78kg in clean and jerk in the women’s
58kg event.
