Nepal Telecom and China Telecom Global have signed an agreement to deliver internet protocol (IP) service in Nepal with terrestrial cable route (TCR) connecting the two nations via Jilong (Rasuwa) gateway.
An agreement to this effect was signed between Executive Vice President of CTG Ou Yan and Chief Technical Officer of NT Lochan Lal Amatya.
A few months ago, NT and CTG were connected through optical fibre to extend high speed internet service in Nepal.
“Nepal will now benefit with additional connectivity. We look forward to establishing Nepal as a transit hub through this route for international connectivity,” said Amatya of NT, adding Nepal Telecom is confident that CTG will provide reliable services.
Similarly, Ou Yan of CTG said that the new Nepal-China route could provide reliable service to Nepal and state-of-the-art transit service to India and the rest of the world.
