KATHMANDU: Four people, including a toddler, died and three others were injured when a car collided with a passenger bus at Amlekhgunj of Bara district, on Saturday.
According to the Bara District Police Office, four people on board the car, including Dipak Thapa Magar, Mahendra Ale Magar, Kumari Thapa Magar and her one-year-old son Jenish, lost life in the incident. The three injured were also on board the ill-fated car.
The 23-year-old Dipak , who was behind the wheel, died on the spot, according to police. He was a permanent resident of Mangaltar, Khotang,
Mahendra (24) of Mangaltar, Khotang; Kumari (25) of Ramdhuni, Sunsari and her son breathed their last at the Churehill Hospital in Hetaunda, according to police.
The fatal crash took place at Aadabar jungle along the Hetaunda-Pathlaiya road at around 7:25 am when the car heading to the east from Kathmandu crashed into the bus coming from opposite direction. It has been learned that the bus was Hetaunda bound.
The injured are receiving treatment at the Churehill Hospital in Hetaunda.
Police has taken the bus driver in custody.
